"Suicide is ________" (Selfish, cowardly, a 'cop-out', a "Last Resort"?)

Per Graham Allen (AKA the 'Dear America'/Daily Rants guy) [Opens with Papa Roach's "Last Resort"] What if I told you this wasn't just a song? In fact, what if I told you that someone, somewhere, someplace- someone- actually feels this way. What if I told you that right NOW- someone, somewhere, by some means... just took their life by suicide. Did you know that it is estimated that every 16 minutes someone in the US take their own life?Did you know that Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the US? An estimated 44,000 Americans take their own lives each and every year. In 2017 we are already over 23,000 American that have taken their own life. Suicide is nothing new. It is in our music, in our movies, in our graphic novels- it has been everywhere for years. Netflix has a hit show called 13 Reasons Why- a story about a girl who commits suicide and leaves 13 reasons why she did it. What lead me to clinical depression at the age of 30

Let's go back, back, waaaaaaaaay back to when I was a kid. When I was in 1st grade the school told my mother I probably had ADHD and should get tested and take medication to control it. My mother said I was just being a kid and she didn't medicate "kids being kids". Fair enough. However, I had this weird relationship with my mother where if she couldn't keep me quiet in front of the TV, she packed me away in my room as punishment for being too rowdy. I found out years later that it is actually called "emotional abuse" and it had been going on since my sister had been born in 1990. When I was in middle/ high school I started "feeling" anxiety. Every adolescent does. Being pretty or not, being popular or not, getting good grades, dealing with hormones. I had been made fun of since 2nd grade, and it had only gotten worse as I grew up. In 7th grade, I brought home my first C on my report card. Pre- Algebra. I still, to this day, hate everythin...

Piercings, tattoos, dyed hair... in the professional world

If you didn't know... I have all of the above....piercings, tattoos, and dyed hair. I have been told multiple times over the years that your employers do not have to hire you for ANY reason and that can fire you at will. For anything. Literally, anything. it's called "being willfully employed". This post is based on a statement made in a video labeled " It's time to end the stigma around body piercings (via ATTN:)."  https://socialfeed.info/it-s-time-to-end-the-stigma-around-body-piercings-via-attn-12560740 The general gist of the statement that I got is that "Employees should be judged on performance, not appearance" and at the same time that "piercings reflect individuality, not professionalism". Wait, what?! I find this pieced together statement to be contradictory. And it proves what is wrong with this narrative. So, let me get this straight- don't judge me by how I look, go out on a limb and pay me for a few weeks and t...
