The (NOT SO) Skinny Girl

I didn't used to be proud to say I was a Girl Scout- not while I was in middle or high school, at least. When you were in kindergarten, everyone joined up, did it until maybe 3rd grade. Then you started weeding out the sports people because practice and games got in the way. . . because sports earn big scholarships. Mind you, I was able to do Girl Scouts AND play sports, but that's just me. I missed a year somewhere, I want to say 8th grade when I went to a different school? So I fell behind in my scouting. But I joined back up in high school in the hopes of earning an award. I succeeded in earning a Silver Award, the second highest honor the Girl scouts had. I was unable to cram 2 years worth of work into one senior year of high school, so I opted not to go for the Gold Award. However, the Silver Award padded my college applications well enough. I'm not sure if I ever mentioned that we "waited" to conceive during certain parts of our journey? We got married in June 2015. I had been off birth control a few months and we had not used condoms in years. Technically, we were not 'trying' right after we got married- we had two months until our honeymoon and I was afraid of morning sickness and not being able to enjoy ourselves in Slovakia, Poland, and Italy... especially the wonderful wine... So we didn't actively try until we touched down in Italy, our beautiful, wonderful adventure of a honeymoon. At that point, I didn't know much about my cycle and my ovulation days and what not. We came home, I got my period, and reports of "we're pregnant" started pouring in immediately. A "news outlet" aired a video of a Texas Mayor saying he is  "more fearful of large gatherings of young white men that come into schools, theaters and shoot people up"  than any Muslim or refugee. Now that's all fine and dandy. Everyone is entitled to their opinion- and Texas has a very large Muslim population. It also has had multiple incidents of "mass" (4 or more dead) shootings perpetrated by both Muslims and whites. Of course people are quick to jump on his bandwagon and say that white people are the devil. UM, WHAT? So the majority of the country is "the devil"... ? My original comment to this video is : "It's actually not large gatherings of white men who do these terrible things... it's isolated incidents of individuals. And yes some are white.
