The 'kitten' is out of the bag...

So for 2.5 years, I used an app called Glow to track my cycle and predict my fertile window for ovulation. Maybe I didn't use it to it's full potential; however, the app was consistently able to align with the painful ovulations and cysts my ovaries put me through, and also would accurately predict 'Aunt Flo's' arrival. I teamed the app up with Ovulation Predictor Kits for at least 6 months, still no luck. And in early December, after debating spending money on IUI, a chance meeting with a Creighton Model Nurse Practitioner pushed me to challenge the the factory line of main stream fertility clinics and go a little old school. We scheduled an introductory session that my husband and I attended, at which we gained better understanding of how this was going to go down and I purchased supplies to move forward and scheduled my first follow-up appointment. Now, technically they suggest you abstain from trying or sex in general for 30 days to allow yourself time to adjust...

What I learned today... (maybe why I'm not a morning person..?)

The Problem Is Most People Are Reactive First Thing In The Morning When the alarm goes off, they’re already hitting the snooze button and beginning the day in a REACTIVE STATE. They then have to rush to get ready, flood themselves with stress and anxiety thinking about all the things they have to do that day. Or they feel so tired and exhausted that after their 8 hours of sleep that they need to have their coffee just to give themselves a boost of energy...  And Sure Enough,  They Repeat The Same Pattern  Day After Day... Repeating The Same Reactive Morning Ritual.

Ultimate Adulting- Today I, a "millennial", bought my first house!!

It's official!! We are home owners!  This journey took about 1 year, almost 100 houses seen, multiple offers, 3 contracts, almost 2 months "homeless", and finally we have a deed and keys!  🍾 🥂  We are big kids now!!  It blows my mind that I am now "rooted" somewhere, as clearly buying and selling houses is a huge hassle. But even more mind-blowing than that is what the attorney said to me while reviewing the paperwork: "You have student loan debt and you were able to buy a house? That's amazing! That's wonderful! Good for you guys!" Yes, I still have about $50,000 in student loan debt just to my name. I personally make less than $50,000 a year. I personally live practically paycheck to paycheck and work a second job part time to offset some of the cost of my expensive hobby, horseback riding. I also 100% own my own truck. I also have a 401k with a couple thousand in it. I also now own a house. According to the bank I only own a percenta...

Millennials are leaving NJ at an alarming rate- and everyone else is to blame.

Trigger warning: Liberal dreadlocked poli sci snowflake upset that NJ cost of living is so high she still has to share a bedroom with her teenage sisters.  Basically what I got from this article. Read it here: http://www.nj.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2017/06/new_jersey_millennials_struggling_with_costs_of_li.html#incart_river_home You know me- I had some things to say... Article:  With $25,000 in student loans, her hopes of a settling down in a place of her own in New Jersey with her longtime boyfriend quickly evaporated. (Her student loan payments are currently deferred because of her low salary.) She only had $25,000 in student loan debt? Where did she get the other $75,000 that I'm still paying off? My total student loans were $102,000 when I graduated. I moved home for one month before securing a job in FL. I moved to FL for 6 months until the cost of living became too much under my student loan debt. I moved back to NJ to try to live with my parents. It ...

I could battle Femi-nazis all day ;)

3rd Wave Feminism at it's best... play the victim, provide no facts, feelings rule, have no responsibility.

What is cultural competency- and why does it sound so demeaning???

Student protesters take over UC Santa Cruz administration building w/ these demands:  1- Guarantee four-year housing for black students at the Rosa Parks building, which is marketed as a 'housing option for students interested in "historical, present-day, and future experiences of predominately Black/African American peoples,"' per the school. 2- They want that building/house to be painted red, green and black, the colors of black liberation. The house, in the middle of the Stevenson College ** -which is a predominantly white-serving college- is to become a matter of symbolism and visibility, because there are black students are on the campus who pay to go there just like anyone else and they feel they do deserve to be seen on the campus. 3- And lastly, they want the university to offer diversity competency training to incoming students. Let's start here: ** UC Santa Cruz has a distinctive residential college system in which all undergraduate students, whether ...

It's tax season, and to some, Trump's taxes are more important than their own...

So tax season is in full swing. My documents are in the queue to be processed and filed with my accountant. Which brings me to my first point of discussion.... using an actual person (accountant) to do your taxes vs. Turbo tax (or other electronic self-filing program). -If you are outraged that wealthy people (including Trump) get 'unfair' tax breaks, what have you done to remedy your own situation? Have you read up on tax law lately? Do you know the ins and outs of the system? Do you know how to make it work for you? Do you know the secrets of the trade? NO?! THEN WHY THE  F**K  ARE YOU USING A SELF GUIDED PROGRAM TO COMPLETE YOUR TAXES? -If you think that having a professional do your taxes is too expensive, and would rather let a cheap or free program assist you, then why are you crying that you don't make out on your taxes? -If you cry year after year about how your 'return' turns out... why aren't you seeking additional guidance/assistance? Why are yo...

Being a wife is a powerful thing

It seems the idea of being a 'housewife' is outdated, and is now widely considered a negative thing. I think that people who don't revere it, know nothing about it. People who think that running the household or child-rearing is not the most important thing a woman- or any parent can do- or that a woman can do so much more than the 'petty nuances of a stay at home mom'- this one is for you! Because, as a wife, I beg to differ. And the bible, an ancient text with so much profound wisdom to offer, actually states a wife's character is nothing short of NOBLE. I have copied and pasted the text, and of course added my insight. ;) Enjoy- or don't... your choice. Epilogue: The Wife of Noble Character   Proverbs 31:10-31 10  A wife of noble character  who can find?  She is worth far more than rubies. She is invaluable. That's a no-brainer. 11  Her husband  has full confidence in her  and lacks nothing of value. Her husband definitely knows it, and knows ...

"abusive" or parenting.... why is this even a debate?

Apparently, my mom and dad were abusive to me when I was a kid. They made me do chores, behave in public, and go to school. They spanked my butt when I did wrong and there was no other way to get through to me. They gave me a curfew and made me keep to it. They made me get a job and work for the things that I wanted. They insisted that I do my best at school, at my job, and to take pride in my work. I grew up with morals, a good work ethic and respect for the law and my elders. I'm blessed to have been so abused and mistreated! But when I look around today- I see a lot of "spoiling" and not a lot of parenting. Seems there are a lot of rude little brats out there and not so many well-behaved children. My mother worked at a Montessori school, and God Bless Maria Montessori because I think someone warped her vision. At today's Montessori school, children are not supposed to use their imagination- everything must be real life-based. You cannot tell a child "n...

Apparently abortion is a hot topic right now

The recent third and final presidential debate had a wildly - and slightly gory- leading topic...abortion. Hilary says the women have the right to choose, and even in late pregnancy she would not force a woman to give birth if it's detrimental to the health of the mother. Fair enough. The Donald said that he didn't agree with late term terminations, saying that it's not right to "rip the baby from the womb at 9 months". In his defense- he probably has no idea of the realities of child birth.  Because- all you out there on the 'ole interwebs- at 9 months, it's not abortion, it's straight up MURDER. However, a fetus can survive on it's own in this cruel outside world at 24 weeks. 24 weeks= 6 months. In fact, most states have banned  abortion at about 24 to 26 weeks of pregnancy So- depending on the state of the fetus, anything after that mile marker could be considered murder as well.  But what really riles me up is people...

Thought of the day

"If you don't believe the same thing I believe, you're wrong and I don't like you and we can't be friends." That's not how America was founded. That seems to be how many people think now-a-days. Everyone is offended. Everyone is a tyrant forcing their own views on people. Everyone is wearing blinders. No one can have a conversation anymore, let along a debate. NORMAL PEOPLE cannot discus ideas and ethics and politics without getting ANGRY. People are threatening to do harm to other people for voicing their opinions. I'm sorry but I thought I live in the country that promises me life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, a gun to protect myself, and freedom of speech. The citizens of America are steadily making this NOT SO. Not the politicians. The every day Joe Schmoes who tell you to "STFU and find a hole to die in" because you made a comment on a Facebook post. The people who call you an inbred and a tranny and a retard over yo...

If you complain about something, you expect someone to DO something about it- right?

So think about this If you feel you are being harassed- you can tell your supervisor, you can tell management, you can call the police. And you EXPECT something to be done- and you expect something to be done in your favor. And if the people you tell don't do something about it that IS in your favor... you can wreck them. If it's a business- you tell people bad things about them and get them to never go there. If it's in your office, you can go to someone higher up and have the person you originally spoke to reprimanded for not handling your situation the way that you wanted it. If someone is bothering you in a public place- or even worse, in your own house- you can call the police and most likely they will be removed. Apparently that works for you if you are the one having done the calling on the police. Apparently that's a huge problem if you are the one the police are "coming after". I don't know how to put it another way. But I do know this- On...

Job, career, income... financial stability

Let's talk about careers, jobs, income. Let's imagine you're a young kid. Before you even go to school, people ask you what you want to be when you grow up. And maybe you say fireman, policeman, doctor, builder, artist. Most likely you say something you've seen that stands out to you. Maybe Mom or Dad does it, maybe uncle or grandpa, or maybe just a character from TV. So you saw it and understand the job they do, and you decide that when you grow up that's what you want to be. So let's pick one... we'll go with firefighter. Because a lot of people perceive them to be heroes, and then maybe assume that such a dangerous and overly helpful job-because it benefits so many people- must be prosperous. So not only are you a hero, lots of people will need your help so you have job security, but it must pay well. So even as a little kid you put it together that it's a great job to have. Money, fame, etc. OK. Good choice. What's the reality of the job thou...

Political correctness is oppression of our intellectual movements

Could you image if people wanted to impose laws so that EVERYONE was politically correct? It's like putting a curb chain on each person as they walk around, letting the end drag, and the authorities could yank on it when you were out of line. "I want to live in a democracy, but I never want to be offended again!" OXYMORON. "you can't say that- someone might be offended by it" And what happens when someone gets offended? I mean, being offended is subjective, right? Each person has their own set of core values, beliefs, their traditions, their opinions. Being offended is directly related to you as an individual, or you as a group of people, or as a collective or a community or society.... Are we really supposed to walk around on eggshells around everyone IN CASE we might offend them? Side note- what offends you probably doesn't offend me... so how can they make a law that blankets offensiveness??? And is this really truly seriously a topic of discu...

IgnoRANT... (sorry not sorry)

So I woke up this morning ... my husband says let's put some air in your tires before you go to the shore. What a winner he is. Always looking out for his woman. (enough sappy). So we hop in the truck and head to the local WAWA. And when we pull up there's a bunch of SUVs hanging out over at the air pump. They're not pumping air. People are out stretching walking around and chatting. That's cool. We are patient. We go tank up, I even get out and clean the windsheild because why not, we're killing time and damn are there a lot of smudges. Ding ding gas is done, we look over- they are still there. We decide to run inside and get a coffee. We hang out a moment debating breakfast sandwiches. I grab a huge jug of water to take to the beach with me. We go out. They are still sitting there. Milling around. OK, clearly no one is getting air. There's even an SUV pulled up to that area using trying to use the pump. My husband says we should just go to another place and ...
