The (NOT SO) Skinny Girl

I am reminded on  International Women's Day that I am a woman, and that that is something that is a force to be reckoned with. I am reminded by Hillary Clinton, Ashley Judd and countless other feminists that being a woman is a bold, brazen (nasty?), and strong thing to be.  I just want to take a moment now to count down the times I truly felt like a strong woman. When I learned to throw, hit, and catch like a girl. When I put pen to paper and drew a detailed picture or wrote a moving poem. I'm online shopping right now, and I know that it's a normal thing to see a few outrageous designs or fashion choices. But today, all of a sudden, I realize one of my favorite stores is subliminally messaging me through fashion, through clothing. Clothing- which is a necessity to humans, that necessity- has now become the platform for political statements. I can't help but roll my eyes and say "Nope, would never buy that" or "who buys this stupid shit?" or "REALLY?". Like, why are clothing stores making a political agenda into "fashion"? The stuff isn't even that fashionable, but then again some dimwit (Connie Briton) at some "Hollywood Night Out" event wore a 'Poverty is Sexist' sweater that cost $380... totally nailed her point. There is a video of a Trans man (a man who charades as a woman of sorts?) named Zoey Tur (Inside Edition reporter) engaging in a conversation with Ben Shapiro (Breitbart News senior editor-at-large). It seems they were supposed to be having some sort of debate about whether Caitlin Jenner, also trans (a man who charades as a woman of sorts?), deserved the "woman of the year award" for 'bravery'. It erupted when Ben stated that Caitlin is in no way a woman, and neither is Zoey, because- FACTS. Fav line ever:  "Facts don't care about your feelings." Ben refuses to live in Zoey's reality. Ben refuses to accept things that are not based on facts. Ben sees the facts and will not be bullied into saying, doing, or believing anything illogical.
